Dr. Jonathan Lazar

A Columbia, MD native and recent addition to the Friends Board of Directors, Dr. Jonathan Lazar is an associate professor in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Towson University, where he serves as head of the Computer Information Systems undergraduate program and is founder and director of the Universal Usability Laboratory. Dr. Lazar has authored over 70 publications on the topics of web usability and accessibility, assistive technology, user error and frustration, public policy and computer interfaces, and user-centered design methods.

Dr. Lazar currently serves as national chair of the ACM SIGCHI (Computer-Human Interaction) U.S. Public Policy Committee. He also serves on the editorial board of the journal Universal Access in the Information Society. Friends will rely on Dr. Lazar’s expertise to help with accessibility issues as it pertains to its web site.
